DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental Implants Look and Feel Like Teeth

Choosing dental implants is almost like having your natural tooth again. You can eat anything you like, and they will not move when you chew or smile.

Implant Retained Dentures are stable and attractive

Dental Implants in Troutdale, OR

In most situations, dental implants are the best option to replace missing natural teeth. Choosing treatment with dental implants has many advantages for both the health and appearance of patients, and few disadvantages.

Pros and Cons of Dental Implants

Troutdale Dental, led by Dr. Hale, is proud to offer dental implant services as a long-term solution for missing teeth. With dental implants, patients can enjoy their favorite meals and social activities with confidence, thanks to their stable and permanent design.

In addition to replacing missing teeth, dental implants can also serve as an anchor to keep dentures in place, making them a versatile option. Like our custom dental crowns, dental implant crowns are designed to blend in with natural teeth, ensuring a seamless, natural-looking smile.

While dental implants have many benefits, it’s important to consider a few drawbacks. Treatment can take several months to complete, so patients should be prepared to be patient. Additionally, not everyone is a good candidate for dental implants, including those taking certain medications or experiencing significant bone loss. Dr. Hale can assess each patient’s unique situation and help determine if dental implants are the right choice for them.

How the Dental Implant Process Works

Dr. Hale and the team at Troutdale Dental are committed to ensuring the success of any dental procedure, including dental implants. To achieve this, we begin with a thorough evaluation to determine if dental implants are the right option for each patient.

During the evaluation, we consider factors like medical history and prescriptions that can impact the success of dental implants. We also use CBCT cone beam technology to take a 3-D image of the jaw, teeth, bone, and sinuses, helping us identify the best location for the implant.

If insufficient bone is present, bone grafting may be necessary to improve results. In some cases, bone grafting can be performed during the same procedure as the extraction.

To ensure the implant is placed accurately, Dr. Hale may use a surgical guide during the procedure, and/or digitally plan your surgery before placing the dental implant in your jaw. Additionally, impressions and models of the teeth are taken to give our laboratory technicians the information they need to create a dental crown that fits seamlessly into each patient’s smile. Often, Dr. Hale will utilize technology like intra-oral scanning and digital CAD design working with a local digital dental lab to provide you with the best result possible.

At Troutdale Dental, we take a personalized approach to dental care and work closely with each patient to determine the best treatment plan for their unique needs.

Dental Implant Surgery and Crown

Many people would like to avoid dental surgery, but it’s important to note that most people tolerate this surgery well and it only takes about an hour. Initial healing takes only a few weeks, and integration between the dental implant post and jawbone takes on average three to four months before we place the final crown.

Implant Retained Dentures

If you have opted for dental implant retained dentures, we provide patients with an innovative alternative called Implant Retained Dentures. Four carefully placed dental implants will secure an entire arch of teeth in place. Since they are lower profile prosthetics, you will be able to taste food better, and they will not move when you eat.
